How Can I Help?

Groups like ours can certainly make a difference, and give a second chance to many of the animals that come into our care. But there are so many things that we can all do to really make a difference to prevent animals coming into care in the first place, and reduce our impact on our environment, whilst enhancing it at the same time.

We can't change the world by ourselves, but a whole lot of people, each doing a little can really work miracles.

There are many ways you can help:

  • Becoming a member of Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers is a starting point. There are so many different tasks that need doing, not just caring, but helping out in other ways. Click the Become a Member link to find out more about these.
  • Every donation we receive goes towards the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife. There are no paid staff or bureaucracy benefiting from your donation - just the wildlife we rescue and rehabilitate. Find out about some of the animals in our care, and donate towards their rehabilitation and the continued rescue and care of animals in the Tweed.
  • Be wildlife-friendly, whether by putting up nestboxes, being aware of and stopping for injured wildlife on the road, getting rid of barbed wire fencing and inappropriate fruit netting, or being aware of the effect of rat baits on our wildlife. There are some really practical things you can do, requiring very little effort, as you will see from our Be Wildlife Friendly page.

Whether we pass on to our children a poorer world, or a planet that is healthy, with a rich natural biodiversity, is not up to government, someone else, or your neighbour ... it is up to each of us!
