Birds
Rose-crowned Fruit-dove
Ptilinopus regina
This beautiful rainforest Rose-crowned Fruit-dove, a threatened species, came into care after flying into a glass door. Severely concussed, it lay on the ground, in danger from neighbourhood cats, until it was found and brought into care with TVWC.
Tawny Frogmouth
Podargus strigoides
Tawny frogmouth parents seem not to know how to build a nest: a few loose sticks and that's it. It is no wonder that these Tawny chicks fell out during windy weather. They were lucky to have carer Jan to look after them and return them to the wild.
Laughing Kookaburra
Dacelo novaeguineae
This Baby Kookaburra was orphaned as a fledgling after fires were deliberately lit along the coastline of Cabarita and pottsville. The way you can tell an adult Kookaburra to a baby is by the beak. An adult has a white lower beak, when a babies is black.
2 Tawny Frogmouth
Podargus strigoides
The Tawny Frogmouth, Podargus strigoides, is an Australian variety of frogmouth, a type of bird found throughout Australia
